This year’s calendar features illustrations of imaginary alien cities- the weird architecture and the strange beings that live there. The calendar features six 6″x10″ spreads containing a pop up city and the days of the month displayed on a planet on either side of the city. It folds closed to a 6×5″ book, with a ribbon to tie it closed. To display it, just fan out the pages and tie the ribbon in the back.
Special extra addition to make this piece more enjoyable beyond 2020 – On the back cover, in a planet pocket, are a set of planets without months on them. After the year is over, if you want to continue to display the piece, you can add the blank planets on to cover up the old month planets.
I make my images using a combination of photography and drawing, combined digitally. My work is printed using archival pigment based inks. I print, cut, construct, and bind everything myself in my home studio.
